We have been working on this for a long time, and are very proud to finally present the program to you as follows;
You will be met and transferred in luxury air conditioned comfort from the airport direct to our resort in Cascais, a beautiful drive to the coastal town not far from Lisbon. We will be staying at the Intercontinental Cascais EstorilI
The resort is right on the ocean with all the rooms designed to create a 5 star experience of comfort, elegance and tranquility. Relax, breathe in the sea air and enjoy the view. There is a stunning buffet breakfast every day, and the Chef will entice and enchant you with new flavours and discoveries, seasoned with tenderness, care and dedication. InterContinental Cascais Estoril is a gentle stroll along the seafront promenade from the sandy beaches of glamorous Cascais Bay. In the nearby old town, charming restaurants on Largo Luís de Camões square specialise in the region’s legendary seafood.
Our opening night will be spent on the hotel terrace overlooking the pool and ocean as we get to know each other and enjoy some Portuguese hospitality at our welcome event with tapas style food and drinks. Come ready for lots of laughs, but you are going to need an early night as we hit the ground running the following morning. (And many of you will be jet lagged!)
Day two will be spent in Sintra. We leave the hotel after breakfast, early to see the Palace of Pena, the renowned jewel in the crown of the beautiful Sintra hills. The bright colours of the palace are something to behold and will open your imagination. Created by the artist King Ferdinand II for the love of his life, it is beautiful and whimsical at the same time and a must see when in Portugal.
After visiting the palace we will have some time for shopping in the boutiques and laneways of Sintra and then we will lunch at Villa Craft, a craft beer taproom where they use the beer as a starter for their pizza dough. You will taste 6 craft beers and 3 types of bread!
Then we will return to the hotel for you to have the opportunity to spend time in the village of Cascais where the gelataria Santini opened their first store in 1949 and still trades from today. Try some of their flavours, it is a must! Shop, rest, relax, repeat.
Day three is our cooking class day. You are going to love this hidden organic farm in Sintra, nestled in a serene valley. Here you will immerse yourself in the world of culinary delights, with a farm to table cooking class, guided by their seasoned chef. You will create mouthwatering dishes from the fresh seasonal ingredients you harvest that morning. After the cooking we will gather at the long wooden table amidst the vegetable fields and colourful flowers and share our culinary creations.
Day four we will be away from the crowds and distractions as we cruise the famous Tagus River by catamaran. But first we will stop and enjoy the famous Portuguese tarts from the Belém region (they claim to be the original) in the beautiful Belém gardens.
Once aboard the catamaran we will be treated to privately catered Portuguese style tapas and drinks as we enjoy the scenery from the coolness of the river. Spot iconic sights such as Christ the King (Christus statue) and the 25th of April Bridge, as well as the elegant Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.
Later that evening we will dine at Michelin starred (since 2001, a status held until today) Fortaleza do Guincho who pride themselves on serving fresh fish and seafood from the Portuguese coast, as well as the best Portuguese ingredients, honoured and recreated in each dish, each season of the year, to the recognition of national and international critics. This restaurant has become referenced in the study of Portuguese cuisine and now has acquired the status of 'school'.
This is our last night in Cascais, so make sure you have used your spa voucher, and spent time in the pool, we are off to Lisbon on Day five.
Day five we will checkout and head to Lisbon to the iconic trams for our own exclusive tram tour. Spot the famous landmarks of Lisbon as we travel the most famous route up and down hills through the beautiful colourful (hilly) streets of old town. We will be served a glass of port wine (you know that is Portuguese right?) and more pastel de nata (those tarts again....you can never have enough!) by a lady dressed in regional costume.
Next we head off on foot to explore the streets and food of Lisbon with our guide. We will take on a gastronomic trip through Lisboa, giving the opportunity to experience some of the most traditional dishes in typical restaurants located in the historic areas of Lisbon. Uncover authentic, mouth-watering food tours designed to suit any appetite. From bite-sized dishes, to street food, we will get you munching, crunching, sipping and slurping just like the food obsessed locals. Taste all of the famous street food and more, including salada de polvo (octopus salad), pipis or moelas (chicken giblets), caracois (snails in a garlic broth), bifanas (pork sandwiches), bolinhos de bacalhau (cod croquettes), presunto (cured Iberian ham) washed down with cold beer or ginjinha (sour cherry wine) or just icy water!
We will check into our new hotel, the Bairro Alto Hotel Located in the heart of Lisbon, amidst the Chiado, Bairro Alto and Principe Real neighborhoods with breathtaking views.
You have the rest of the afternoon and evening to explore the amazing shopping and more food if you have room at Timeout Markets, LX Factory or any other amazing array of sights and tastes in this vibrant city that never sleeps.
Day Six; The following morning we will travel to historic UNESCO listed Evora, the best way to see the city is on foot, walking through its narrow streets lined with white houses, discovering along the way the monuments and details that reveal the history of Évora and its rich heritage. Evora is home to one of the oldest universities in the world, founded in 1559! The city’s unique Aqueduct of Silver Water spans over 9 kilometers and provided water to Évora in the past.
We will be visiting Mai Nova an organic olive oil and wine producer. We will tour the vineyards, olive grove and wine cellar, then enjoy a long table lunch prepared exclusively for us with an olive oil tasting and wine pairing. This is sure to be a highlight of the trip as this region is known for its amazing produce due to centuries of improvement of the soil combined with best farming practices. This Alentejo region is the famous wine and foodie region of Portugal.
Day Seven and it's time to slow down a little. After yet another stunning breakfast we will join a Pastel de Nata workshop. We will learn the whole process from scratch, though each bakery has their own highly guarded secret recipe for these famous pastries.
Then it is time for a lazy Sunday lunch at O Jardim. O Jardim in Lisbon is a charming restaurant nestled in a picturesque garden setting. Known for its inviting atmosphere, it offers a diverse menu featuring Portuguese cuisine with a modern twist. Guests enjoy a delightful dining experience surrounded by lush greenery in the heart of the city.
Day Eight and we highly recommend taking the time to enjoy breakfast, and then spend the day as you please. Finish your shopping, visit the famous museums or art galleries, eat some more, get your hair done!
This is our traditional gala dinner night and so you will need to be glammed up and ready for the occasion. We always take group photos at our last supper, so come ready!
We will wine and dine at the Estorias na Casa da Comida Restaurant until the wee hours! Winner of one of the very first Michelin stars awarded in Portugal, this restaurant has maintained the same concept over the years: sophisticated, with great refinement and personalized service.
Not only will we feast on the finest cuisine offered in Lisbon we will be entertained in the traditional Fado manner. Fado is a traditional genre of Portuguese music that is often characterized by its melancholic and soulful expression. The word "fado" translates to "fate" in English, and the music typically revolves around themes of longing, nostalgia, and the hardships of life. Fado singing involves a passionate and emotionally charged delivery, with the singer (fadista) often accompanied by acoustic instruments such as the Portuguese guitar. Generally if you visit a Fado restaurant (Lisbon is full of them) you will be shushed if you even whisper. So we figured that would never do with our noisy bunch and so we have arranged for one of the best fadistas to visit us for our own show. You will get goosebumps from the singing I am sure.
Alas, Day nine will come around all too quickly. Enjoy the last breakfast together at our beautiful palace and then be transferred by limousine to your next destination, be it the airport or another hotel.

Taking a guided tour vs going on your own:
Our guided tours often include access to exclusive or restricted areas that are not open to the general public. This can include behind-the-scenes visits, private viewings, or special entrances to popular sites, offering a more exclusive and immersive experience that independent travelers may not have access to.
Another advantage is the opportunity for social interaction and making new connections. Group tours allow travelers to meet like-minded foodies from around the world, creating new friendships and shared experiences. This social aspect can enhance enjoyment and create lasting memories beyond just the sights themselves.
Lastly, guided tours frequently include amenities such as transportation, meals, and accommodations, bundled into a single package price. This can often result in cost savings compared to arranging each component separately, especially when considering group discounts and negotiated rates that tour operators can secure.
While independent travel offers flexibility, guided tours provide curated experiences that combine convenience, expertise, access, and value. For travelers looking to maximize their time, deepen their understanding, and enjoy a hassle-free journey, guided tours often represent a superior choice in terms of overall value and enrichment.
